The Challenge

When new ownership and management took over the BNZ Breakers facility in early 2025, they inherited a system that was no longer fit for purpose.

Their training courts were being accessed by a wide range of users — schools, clubs, and individuals — all using an old dial-pin lock box to retrieve keys.

Over time, the code had been widely shared, leaving management with no control over who entered the site or when.

At the same time, the alarm system was outdated, and there was no effective CCTV coverage to monitor activity or prevent issues with aggressive spectators and unauthorised after-hours access.

It was time for a smarter, safer, and more controlled system.

IQ Security Solution

IQ Security worked with Gallagher to design and deliver a comprehensive security upgrade that addressed all of Breakers NZ’s key concerns — access, safety, and visibility.

🔐 SMART ACCESS CONTROL
We replaced the old lock-box with a Gallagher Access Control System, hosted by IQ Security.

Controlled entry for all court users via the main door
Restricted access to the upstairs management office
Remote management of user access rights

🚨 ALARM SYSTEM UPGRADE
We upgraded the alarm system with new PIR sensors and door reeds to ensure better detection coverage and reliability.

🎥 CCTV SYSTEM
An NX Witness CCTV system was installed, featuring:

Cameras covering the courts
Camera monitoring the main entry door
Instant playback and remote viewing via mobile or desktop
